Origin Story
话说大明朝，有一位县令，为人正直，刚正不阿。一日，县衙门来了位老农，哭诉说自己辛苦种的一亩良田被邻家恶霸霸占了，求县令为民做主。县令听后大怒，立刻派人将恶霸抓来。审问之下，恶霸不仅承认了罪行，还跪地求饶，表示愿意赔偿老农损失，并保证以后再也不敢犯。县令见恶霸悔过态度诚恳，又念其以往并无劣迹，便决定从轻发落，只罚他赔偿老农损失，并责令他向老农道歉，不再追究其他责任。恶霸感激涕零，连连磕头谢恩，从此改过自新，再也不曾做过坏事。而老农也得到了应有的赔偿，心里十分高兴。
In the Ming Dynasty, a county magistrate known for his integrity and impartiality received a complaint from an old farmer whose land had been seized by a bully. The magistrate, after apprehending the bully and hearing his confession and apology, decided to be lenient and imposed only compensation and a public apology, not further punishment. The bully changed his ways and the farmer received justice.
