When Wei heard about the attack, it immediately mobilized troops to defend itself. The two armies met on the battlefield, and the battle was extremely fierce. The army of Qi marched forward like a bamboo forest and won victory after victory. It seemed as if they were about to capture the capital of Wei. The King of Wei learned of the news and hastily sent a messenger to Qi to make peace. King Wei of Qi was initially going to agree to Wei's peace offer, but Sun Bin advised him to continue the attack. He knew that Wei was just trying to buy time by making peace. Once Qi stopped fighting, Wei would return with renewed strength. King Wei of Qi followed Sun Bin's advice and ordered the army to double its pace and continue to advance against Wei. Finally, the army of Qi won and captured the capital of Wei. The King of Wei was forced to surrender.
