Even with Xue Baochai by his side, he could not feel any warmth. The cold, empty feeling was like the biting winter wind, relentlessly blowing against his soul, making him miss Daiyu even more. Baoyu's inner world resembled the fallen autumn leaves, a cold and desolate scene. He realized that his past coldness and neglect towards Zijuan led to their estrangement, and robbed him of the opportunity to establish a sincere friendship with her. All this filled him with deep regret.
