Origin Story
In the late Eastern Han Dynasty, warlords vied for power, plunging the land into chaos. Cao Cao, manipulating the emperor, gradually expanded his influence, defeating numerous rivals and establishing himself as the dominant power in the north. His southward campaign to unify the empire seemed unstoppable. Sun Quan and Liu Bei in the south braced for the inevitable. However, in the Battle of Red Cliffs, a brilliant naval engagement using fire attacks, Sun Quan and Liu Bei’s combined forces decisively defeated Cao Cao’s army. Cao Cao’s elite troops suffered devastating losses, forcing him to retreat. While the Battle of Red Cliffs temporarily checked Cao Cao's ambition, his immense strength in the north remained a force to be reckoned with, showcasing the truly unstoppable nature of his power at the time.
