During the Tang Dynasty, a foreign merchant arrived in Chang'an City. He wore a brightly colored outfit, a strange headdress, long boots, and carried an unknown musical instrument. As he walked the streets, he attracted countless gazes. Some found him novel, others strange, and some even whispered and pointed.
