He was known for his superb craftsmanship, but his personality was somewhat eccentric; he always strived for perfection, often pondering over a detail and modifying it countless times. Once, a wealthy family in the village commissioned Ah Qiang to make roof beams for their new house. After accepting the commission, Ah Qiang began to meticulously design and repeatedly refine the dimensions and structure, striving to make them sturdy and durable, beautiful and generous. He first made a model using rough lumber, repeatedly experimenting and adjusting until satisfied. Then, he used fine wood, following the model meticulously in production. During the process, he checked each component and measured every angle repeatedly, ensuring foolproof quality. To pursue the perfect curve, he even used fine sandpaper to polish it bit by bit, over and over again, until the surface was as smooth as a mirror. After several months of hard work, Ah Qiang finally completed the roof beam. When the wealthy family saw this exquisite roof beam, they praised him effusively, praising Ah Qiang’s superb craftsmanship and conscientious attitude. Although Ah Qiang had an eccentric personality, his serious work ethic earned the respect of everyone.
