Origin Story
During the Tang Dynasty, the famous poet Bai Juyi, while serving as a local official, handled a civil dispute. Two families argued over a piece of land, each claiming it as their own. After hearing both sides, Bai Juyi didn't immediately make a judgment, but said, "To be fair, this piece of land is indeed difficult to define." So he ordered a thorough measurement and survey of the land before making a fair judgment based on the facts. In the end, Bai Juyi's impartial attitude resolved the conflict and earned him the praise of the people.
