In the late Eastern Han Dynasty, the country was in turmoil, and numerous warlords were vying for power. The struggle between Liu Xiu and Wang Mang was exceptionally fierce, with both sides being evenly matched, each with their own victories and defeats. Liu Xiu's victory in the Battle of Kunyang, where he achieved victory with fewer troops against Wang Mang's vast army, laid the foundation for the establishment of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Subsequently, Liu Xiu continued his efforts towards good governance and ultimately unified the entire country, ending decades of war and ensuring the people lived in peace. The Wang Mang regime, severely weakened after the Battle of Kunyang, was eventually completely defeated by Liu Xiu, and the Eastern Han Dynasty was officially established.
