Origin Story
楚汉相争时期，项羽率领八千江东子弟西征，最终兵败垓下，被汉军围困。项羽突围至乌江，面对追兵，他悲叹自己无颜面对江东父老，最终自刎而死，一代英雄就此陨落。这个故事体现了项羽对故土和人民的责任感，也展现了他悲壮的英雄气概。项羽虽然失败了，但他始终记得自己肩负的责任，以及对江东父老的承诺，这让他即使在失败面前也依然保持了尊严和气节。后世人们常常用“江东父老”来形容家乡的父老乡亲，也以此来表达对故土的深厚感情和责任感。
During the Chu-Han contention, Xiang Yu led 8,000 men from Jiangdong on a westward expedition, but was ultimately defeated at Gaixia and besieged by the Han army. Xiang Yu broke through to Wu River, faced with pursuers, he sighed that he had no face to meet the elders of Jiangdong, and finally committed suicide. A great hero thus perished. This story reflects Xiang Yu's sense of responsibility towards his homeland and people, and also showcases his tragic heroism. Although Xiang Yu failed, he always remembered his responsibilities and his promise to the elders of Jiangdong, which allowed him to maintain dignity and integrity even in the face of defeat. Later generations often use "Jiangdong fulao" to describe the elders and neighbors in their hometown, and thus express their deep affection and sense of responsibility for their homeland.
