Once upon a time, in ancient China, there was a scholar named Wang Er who longed to achieve fame and honor. On his way to the capital for the imperial examinations, he encountered a motley crew—hard-working students, con men, and idlers—a perfect example of a mix of good and bad. Naive and inexperienced, Wang Er traveled with them for a while, only to be swindled out of his money. He failed the examination and returned home disheartened. This experience taught Wang Er a valuable lesson about the harsh realities of the world. He learned to be more discerning and eventually, through his own perseverance, passed the imperial examinations with flying colors.
