During the Warring States period, there was a famous musician in the Chu state who composed two songs: "Yangchun" and "Baixue". "Yangchun" had a brisk melody, easy to sing, and was deeply loved by the people; almost everyone could sing it. "Baixue", on the other hand, had a high-pitched melody and a profound artistic conception, which only a few nobles and literati could appreciate. Later, "Yangchunbaixue" was used to describe elegant art, while works that were easy to understand were called "Xia Liba Ren". This story reflects the hierarchy and diversity of ancient Chinese art, and also shows the different aesthetic preferences of different classes.
