话说梁山好汉攻打祝家庄时，为了迷惑敌人，宋江带领一队人马绕道而行，不料途中迷了路，恰巧来到了一座荒凉的山村。天色已晚，人困马乏，大家在村边的一户人家借宿。主人热情好客，拿出最好的粮食招待他们。夜深人静，宋江发现这家人的羊圈里有一只肥壮的大羊，便悄悄地走到羊圈旁边，轻轻地把那只大羊牵了出来。好汉们吃了一顿丰盛的羊肉宴后，继续赶路。第二天，主人发现羊丢了，便向县官报案。县官经过调查后，断定梁山好汉是顺手牵羊，盗走了他的羊。宋江等人闻讯后，立刻派出人马寻找这户人家的羊，并且赔偿了主人损失。这则故事告诉我们，即使是英雄好汉，也不应该顺手牵羊，做违法的事情。
It is said that when the Liangshan heroes attacked Zhujiazhuang, in order to confuse the enemy, Song Jiang led a team of troops to take a detour, but unexpectedly lost their way and happened to come to a desolate mountain village. It was late, people were tired and horses were exhausted, so everyone stayed at a household on the edge of the village. The owner was hospitable and brought out the best food to entertain them. Late at night, Song Jiang found a fat and strong sheep in the family's sheepfold, so he quietly went to the side of the sheepfold and gently pulled out the sheep. After the heroes had a sumptuous mutton feast, they continued on their way. The next day, the owner discovered that the sheep was missing, so he reported it to the county magistrate. After investigation, the magistrate determined that the Liangshan heroes had secretly stolen his sheep. After Song Jiang and others heard the news, they immediately sent troops to search for the sheep of this household and compensated the owner for their losses. This story tells us that even heroes should not secretly steal and do illegal things.
