Origin Story
话说唐朝时期,有一位官员名叫李公,他为官清廉,深受百姓爱戴。一日,李公巡视当地集市,发现有奸商哄抬物价,欺骗百姓。面对众目睽睽之下,李公义正辞严地指出奸商的恶行,并下令查封其店铺,严惩不贷。百姓们拍手称快,纷纷赞扬李公的公正廉洁。此事在当地传为佳话,百姓们更加敬重这位为民请命的清官。从此以后,奸商们也吸取教训,不敢再在众目睽睽之下做坏事。李公的作为,也成为了后世官员的榜样。
During the Tang Dynasty, there was an honest official named Li Gong, who was loved by the people. One day, while inspecting the local market, he discovered that unscrupulous merchants were inflating prices and cheating the people. Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Li Gong sternly pointed out the merchants’ evil deeds and ordered their shops to be closed down, punishing them severely. The people applauded and praised Li Gong’s integrity. This event became a local legend, and the people respected this official who spoke out for them even more. From then on, unscrupulous merchants learned their lesson and dared not do bad deeds under the watchful eyes of everyone. Li Gong’s actions also became a model for future officials.
