During the Three Kingdoms period in China, Zhuge Liang, the chancellor of Shu Han, led a large army to the north to fight against the Wei army. One day, Zhuge Liang ordered the entire army to be on high alert, forbidding any unauthorized actions. However, General Ma Su disobeyed the order, underestimated the enemy, and launched a rash attack, leading to the loss of Street Pavilion and a major defeat for the Shu army. When Zhuge Liang heard the bad news, he was heartbroken and remorseful, and finally executed Ma Su to uphold military discipline. After this, the Shu army strictly followed military orders and dared not disobey any orders. Zhuge Liang's actions became a model for the strict adherence to military discipline in later history.
