Li Ling Zhi Hun means that because of greed for profit, one loses rationality and has a confused mind. It describes a person who is blinded by profit, losing judgment and wisdom.
Origin Story
战国时期,赵国名将廉颇屡立战功,深受赵王的赏识和器重。然而,他却因为贪图功名利禄,逐渐变得骄傲自满,目中无人。一次,他与同僚蔺相如发生矛盾,最终导致了赵国丢失了重要的战略物资。赵王大怒,罢免了廉颇的职务。廉颇后悔莫及,他明白了利令智昏的可怕后果,曾经的功名利禄也成了他痛苦的回忆。他从此深居简出,潜心修养,反思自己的过错。
During the Warring States Period, Lian Po, a famous general of the Zhao state, repeatedly made military achievements and was highly regarded by the Zhao king. However, because he craved fame and fortune, he gradually became arrogant and conceited. Once, he had a conflict with his colleague Lin Xiangru, which eventually led to the Zhao state losing important strategic materials. The Zhao king was furious and dismissed Lian Po from his post. Lian Po regretted it immensely, and he understood the terrible consequences of being blinded by greed. His past fame and fortune became painful memories. From then on, he lived a secluded life, devoted himself to self-cultivation, and reflected on his mistakes.
