During the Tang Dynasty, there was a scholar named Li Bai who, from a young age, was determined to be an upright person. He studied diligently, read widely, and was both learned and talented. But he was not arrogant, instead he was humble and cautious, treating people with politeness and sincerity. One day, he passed through a village and saw a group of thugs bullying an old farmer. The farmer was helpless and could only endure silently. Li Bai, filled with righteous indignation, stepped forward, bravely spoke out, and rebuked the thugs, helping the farmer obtain justice. His upright character won the respect and praise of the villagers. From then on, Li Bai's reputation spread far and wide, and everyone praised him as an upright and righteous gentleman.
