姑妄听之，意思是暂且随便听听，不一定就相信。它体现了一种不轻易相信、保持理性思考的态度。

Origin Story
战国时期，一位名叫田子的学者游历到齐国，受到齐王赏识，被任命为官。一日，齐王召见田子，对他讲起自己最近听闻的一位隐士的故事，言语中充满了对隐士高深莫测的敬仰之情。田子静静地听着，脸上没有一丝表情。齐王讲完后，问道：“先生对这位隐士有何看法？”田子答道：“大王所言，姑妄听之。”齐王不解，追问其意。田子解释道：“臣并非不信大王所说，只是世上奇人异事层出不穷，单凭一面之词难以断定真伪。臣认为，对待任何信息都应保持谨慎态度，切勿轻信，应自行甄别，方能明辨是非。”齐王听后，深感受益，从此对信息的甄别更加谨慎。
During the Warring States period, a scholar named Tianzi traveled to the state of Qi and was appreciated by the King of Qi and appointed as an official. One day, the King of Qi summoned Tianzi and told him a story about a hermit he had recently heard about, his words filled with admiration for the unpredictable hermit. Tianzi listened quietly, without any expression on his face. After the King of Qi finished speaking, he asked: "What is your opinion of this hermit, sir?" Tianzi replied: "What Your Majesty said, I just listen to it casually." The King of Qi did not understand and asked about the meaning. Tianzi explained: "I do not mean to distrust Your Majesty, but there are countless strange people and things in the world, and it is difficult to determine the truth or falsehood based on just one statement. I believe that we should be cautious in treating any information, and not easily believe it. We should distinguish it by ourselves, so we can distinguish right from wrong." After hearing this, the King of Qi felt deeply benefited, and from then on was more cautious in distinguishing information.
