During the Song Dynasty, there was a young magistrate named Li Zhifu who was known for his integrity and strict adherence to the law. One day, a difficult case came before his court: the son of a wealthy merchant, Zhao Gongzi, had severely injured a man while drunk. The wealthy merchant Zhao tried to bribe Li Zhifu, but he refused, and he sentenced Zhao Gongzi to prison. Zhao tried to have Li Zhifu removed from office, but Li Zhifu remained steadfast. In the end, Zhao Gongzi was punished, and Li Zhifu was praised by the people for his justice.
