Origin Story
话说唐朝时期，一位名叫李白的诗人，才华横溢，名扬天下。一日，朝廷大臣张丞相邀请李白到府中做客，并希望李白能为朝廷效力。李白深感荣幸，但考虑到自己性情散漫，不善于处理朝中事务，便以“敬谢不敏”四字谦逊地婉拒了张丞相的好意。张丞相虽然有些遗憾，但也十分敬佩李白的坦诚，最终接受了他的谢绝。李白的故事流传至今，成为文人墨客们推辞官场邀请的经典案例。
It is said that during the Tang Dynasty, a poet named Li Bai, with extraordinary talent, gained fame throughout the country. One day, Zhang, a high-ranking official, invited Li Bai to his house as a guest and hoped that Li Bai could serve the court. Li Bai felt greatly honored, but considering his free and easy temperament and his lack of skill in handling court affairs, he politely declined Zhang’s kindness with the four words "Jing Xie Bu Min". Although Zhang was somewhat regretful, he also greatly admired Li Bai’s honesty and ultimately accepted his refusal. Li Bai’s story has been passed down to this day, becoming a classic example for literati to decline invitations from the court.
