Origin Story
Long ago, in a bustling marketplace, countless goods piled high, a wide variety of merchandise. Silks, porcelain, teas, and spices attracted customers from far and wide. Vendors enthusiastically hawked their wares, voices rising and falling in a lively chorus. A merchant from the West, visiting this market for the first time, was astonished by the sight. He had never seen such an abundance of goods; the sheer variety and quantity were beyond his imagination. He looked around, seeing a sea of people and mountains of merchandise, countless items dazzling the eyes. He exclaimed, “The goods in this market are truly countless!” From then on, the idiom “countless” spread, used to describe things too numerous to count.
