In ancient China, during the Tang Dynasty, a grand lantern festival was held in Yangzhou City, attracting countless people to watch. Among them was a scholar named Li Bai, who came to see the splendor of the lantern festival. When he arrived in Yangzhou City, he happened to be at the most lively time of the lantern festival. He saw brilliant lanterns and crowds of people, creating a lively atmosphere. Li Bai shuttled through the crowd, appreciating various exquisite lanterns and feeling the festive atmosphere. He was shocked by the magnificent scene in front of him and couldn't help but exclaim, “This scene is truly unforgettable!” He wrote poems that have been passed down through the ages, recording this unforgettable night. Back home, Li Bai was still immersed in the joy of the lantern festival. He often told his friends about the grand occasion of that night, and his words were full of admiration for this grand event. Later, people used the idiom “gōng féng qí shèng” to describe personally experiencing such a grand occasion.
