Some people say that the number of locust fruits indicates the good or bad harvest in the coming year; others say that the size of the locust fruits determines the future fate of the children. Xiaoming was the smartest child in the village, but his family was poor. People in the village said that he was destined to be poor all his life. Xiaoming didn't believe it. He studied hard and grew up to be an excellent engineer. He designed many bridges, changing the appearance of his hometown and his own destiny. Xiaoli, on the other hand, was naturally beautiful and was considered by everyone to be destined to live a happy life. However, she indulged in pleasure and eventually ended up accomplishing nothing. This story tells us that although some things seem to be predestined, we can still change our fate through our own efforts.
