战国时期,齐国有一位名叫晏婴的政治家,他以才智过人,深谋远虑而闻名。有一天,晏婴出门办事,路过一个市集,看到许多人围观一个卖油的小贩。小贩正得意洋洋地向众人展示他的油,说自己卖的油质量最好,价格最便宜。晏婴走上前去,仔细观察了一下,发现小贩卖的油并没有什么特别之处。于是,晏婴问小贩:“你的油真的比别人卖的油好吗?”小贩自信满满地说:“当然,我的油是最好的!你看,我的油色泽金黄,清澈透明,比其他人的油还要香!”晏婴微微一笑,说道:“你只看到你油的表面,却没看到你油的本质。油的质量好坏,不能只看表面,还要看它是否纯正,是否掺杂了其他的东西。你的油虽然看起来很好,但谁知道里面是否掺杂了劣质油呢?”小贩被晏婴的一番话问得哑口无言,只好低着头不再说话。从此以后,小贩再也不敢得意洋洋地夸口了,因为晏婴的教诲让他明白了,真正的成功不是表面上的虚荣,而是内在的真才实学。
