During the Three Kingdoms period, Zhuge Liang led a large army south to conquer Meng Huo, who was repeatedly defeated and finally captured by Zhuge Liang. Instead of killing him, Zhuge Liang released Meng Huo and reasoned with him, appealing to his emotions. Eventually, Meng Huo was moved by Zhuge Liang's wisdom and charisma, and sincerely surrendered to Shu Han.
