During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Wang Mang usurped power, leading to chaos and displacement. Many people fled to the deep mountains and forests. Among them were several wandering chivalrous men who, disliking Wang Mang's tyranny, gathered in the Green Forest Mountains and called on the people to resist the tyrannical rule. They robbed the rich to help the poor, enjoyed the support of the people, and their ranks grew steadily, eventually becoming a powerful rebel army. They made great contributions to overthrowing Wang Mang's rule and establishing a new dynasty. Their stories have been passed down to this day and have become well-known heroic legends. In that turbulent era, the Green Forest Heroes interpreted the spirit of chivalry with their actions and became a symbol of resistance to oppression and the pursuit of justice.
