Origin Story
在战国时期，有一个叫李离的官员，以公正廉明闻名。他秉持着“法不容情”的原则，对待犯人毫不手软，对权贵也不徇私枉法。有一次，他发现一起错判的案件，原本应该无罪释放的人却被判处死刑。他认为自己有责任，便向晋文公请求为自己蒙冤的百姓伸冤。晋文公想要赦免李离，但李离坚持认为自己犯了错误，应该接受惩罚，他对着晋文公说道：“法网恢恢，疏而不漏，我作为执行法令的人，不能徇私枉法，应该誓死不二，接受惩罚！”最终，李离以身试法，将自己绑缚起来，向晋文公请罪。最终，晋文公被他的忠义所感动，赦免了他，并重新审理了案件。
During the Warring States period, there was an official named Li Li, who was known for his fairness and integrity. He adhered to the principle of "the law is merciless", punished criminals without mercy, and did not show favoritism to the powerful. Once, he discovered a case of misjudgment, a person who should have been acquitted was sentenced to death. He felt responsible, so he asked the Duke of Jin to redress the injustice for the wrongly convicted citizen. The Duke of Jin wanted to pardon Li Li, but Li Li insisted that he had made a mistake and should be punished. He said to the Duke of Jin: "The law is ubiquitous, it is strict, but fair. As an enforcer of the law, I cannot show favoritism, I must be resolute and accept punishment!" In the end, Li Li put himself to the test of the law and tied himself up to apologize to the Duke of Jin. Finally, the Duke of Jin was touched by his loyalty and justice and pardoned him. Moreover, the case was retried.
