It is said that Li Bai, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, known for his unrestrained style and love for drinking and poetry, once gathered with friends. Fine food and exquisite wine were prepared. During the drinking, Li Bai was full of enthusiasm and inspiration. Everyone raised their glasses, and as the wine flowed, Li Bai became red-faced and full of joy, reciting the poems he had just composed, completely oblivious to his surroundings, immersed in the double enjoyment of wine and poetry. This was the exquisite moment of "jiǔ hān ěr rè", brimming with poetic and picturesque imagery. Li Bai's scene of unrestrained drinking became a popular story among later scholars. Another scholar, Wang Wei, differed from Li Bai; he preferred a plain and elegant life. He enjoyed drinking tea, appreciating flowers, engaging in quiet conversations, and composing poems and paintings on leisurely afternoons. Although it lacked Li Bai's unrestrained drinking, the delicate and elegant atmosphere had a unique charm. These two scenes, the unrestrained drinking and the refined simplicity, represent different lifestyles and aesthetic tastes. One is unrestrained and passionate, the other restrained and subtle, each in its own way remarkable.
