古代有一个名叫张三的农夫，他勤劳朴实，耕种着祖祖辈辈留下的田地。他日出而作，日落而息，辛苦劳作，却只能勉强维持生计。有一天，他偶然遇到一位老先生，老先生看他勤劳，便指点他：“生财有道，你只要努力学习新的种植技术，就能获得丰厚的回报。”张三听了，虚心向老先生请教。老先生教他如何选择良种、如何施肥、如何防治病虫害。张三认真学习，刻苦实践，几年下来，他种植的庄稼产量大增，他也成了村里有名的富裕人家。
