Once upon a time, during the Jin Dynasty, there was a very wealthy man named Shi Chong. His family was incredibly rich, so rich that he could rival a kingdom. He lived a life of extreme luxury, and every day he hosted lavish banquets for his guests. Every conceivable delicacy was served, and the guests feasted, enjoying themselves as they watched song and dance performances. Shi Chong was never stingy with his money; he was extraordinarily generous, and he spent his wealth without restraint. He often wore priceless jewelry and rode on expensive horses. Once, he got into a contest of wealth with a colleague, Wang Kai. Wang Kai showed off a priceless coral tree, but Shi Chong simply scoffed and ordered it burned. He then had several larger coral trees brought out to show off to Wang Kai. However, Shi Chong’s lavish and unrestrained spending eventually led to the downfall of his family. The story of Shi Chong illustrates that despite his wealth, he didn't know how to manage his finances properly; money came in quickly, but it went out just as fast. Consequently, his family was ruined.
