Origin Story
战国时期，魏国人范雎跟随魏中大夫须贾出访齐国，齐襄王很赏识他，给他黄金，他拒绝接受。回国后相国魏齐叫人痛打范雎并弃之荒野。范雎逃到秦国改名张禄并当上相国。须贾向秦求和见到范雎，向他赔罪并恭贺他青云直上。范雎对须贾说：“我当时只是个默默无闻的小人物，现在却能青云直上，成为秦国的相国，这都是因为你当初对我的羞辱和陷害啊！”,
During the Warring States Period, Fan Ju, a man from the state of Wei, accompanied Xu Jia, a high-ranking official of Wei, on a visit to the state of Qi. King Xiang of Qi was impressed by Fan Ju and offered him gold, but he refused. After returning to Wei, the prime minister Wei Qi had Fan Ju beaten and abandoned in the wilderness. Fan Ju escaped to the state of Qin, changed his name to Zhang Lu, and became the prime minister. Xu Jia then sought peace with Qin and met Fan Ju. He apologized and congratulated him on his rise to power. Fan Ju told Xu Jia: “I was just an insignificant person, but now I can rise to high positions and become the prime minister of Qin. This is all because of the humiliation and betrayal you inflicted on me back then!”
