Origin Story
战国时期，齐国有一位名叫晏婴的著名政治家，他以智慧和才能闻名于世。有一次，晏婴出使到楚国，楚王故意为难他，想羞辱他。楚王在宫殿里设宴款待晏婴，宴席间，故意安排人当众羞辱晏婴，希望看到晏婴的窘态。 可是，晏婴面对楚王的刁难，却神色自若，不慌不忙。他从容地对楚王说：“我听说，狗在路上遇到陌生人，就会狂吠不止，而见到主人却会乖乖地摇着尾巴。您今天这样对待我，莫非把我当成是狗了吗？” 楚王被晏婴的机智幽默给驳得无言以对，只好讪讪地闭了嘴。晏婴凭借着冷静沉着、不卑不亢的态度，化解了楚王对他的刁难，也维护了齐国的尊严。
During the Warring States period in China, there lived a famous statesman named Yan Ying from the state of Qi, known for his wisdom and abilities. Once, Yan Ying traveled to Chu as an envoy. The King of Chu wanted to deliberately put him in a difficult situation and humiliate him. The King of Chu hosted a banquet for Yan Ying in the palace. During the banquet, he deliberately arranged for people to publicly humiliate Yan Ying, hoping to see his embarrassment. However, Yan Ying remained calm and collected in the face of the King of Chu's difficulties. He calmly said to the King of Chu, “I have heard that a dog, when it encounters a stranger on the road, will bark incessantly, while it will wag its tail obediently when it sees its master. Are you perhaps treating me like a dog today?” The King of Chu was speechless by Yan Ying's wit and humor and could only shut up in embarrassment. Yan Ying, with his calm and composed, neither submissive nor arrogant attitude, escaped the difficulties that the King of Chu presented to him, and also maintained the dignity of the state of Qi.
