During the Warring States Period in China, there was a diplomatic official from the state of Qi named Yan Ying, who was known for his wisdom and courage. One day, Yan Ying traveled as an envoy to the kingdom of Chu. The King of Chu wanted to humiliate him and deliberately sent someone to dress a prisoner in the clothes of a man from Qi and deliberately have him stand in front of Yan Ying. Then the King of Chu asked Yan Ying: "I hear that people from your state of Qi like to eat people." Yan Ying remained calm and replied: "We people from Qi do indeed like to eat people, but we only eat those who are unreasonable. Look at this man, dressed in prison garb, with a worried look on his face, he looks like an unreasonable person, we people from Qi certainly wouldn't eat him." The King of Chu was speechless and eventually had to admire Yan Ying's intelligence and grace.
