It is said that Tan Daoji, a famous general of the Southern Song Dynasty, was brave and skilled in warfare, repeatedly achieving remarkable feats. Once, when he led his troops in a battle against the Northern Wei Dynasty, facing the enemy's powerful offensive, Tan Daoji's gaze was as sharp as a torch; calmly commanding his troops, he ultimately achieved victory. Those who attempted to use petty tricks to outsmart him, under his piercing gaze, could not hide their schemes. His sharp gaze, which could see through everything, caused the enemy to flee in fear. Later, others envied his achievements and slandered him to the emperor, saying that Tan Daoji had rebellious intentions. Although Emperor Wen did not believe it, he still had him imprisoned. During his imprisonment, Tan Daoji's gaze remained sharp and full of concern for his country and people. Finally, Tan Daoji died unjustly and became a ghost forever.
