Origin Story

During the Three Kingdoms period in ancient China, Guan Yu, a renowned general of Shu Han, was famed for his heroic deeds of conquering five passes and slaying six generals. Guan Yu stood nine feet tall, with a beard like a dragon and a face like a red jujube. He exuded imposing confidence and power. Astride his red horse, armed with his green dragon curved-moon saber, he charged into battle, his enemies falling before him. His majestic and powerful appearance struck fear into the hearts of his foes. Once, Guan Yu led an army against Cao Cao. Facing Cao Cao's massive army, Guan Yu showed no fear, his imposing and powerful presence even more pronounced. He raised his green dragon curved-moon saber high, let out a roar, and led his soldiers into battle. The ferocity of the assault was so overwhelming that Cao Cao's soldiers fled in panic, ultimately suffering a crushing defeat. Guan Yu's imposing power was manifested not only on the battlefield but also in his daily conduct. His unwavering loyalty and dedication to his country and people commanded respect. Thus, future generations often use "wei wu xiong zhuang" to describe those figures and scenes of heroic bravery and imposing grandeur.
