汉朝时期，淮南王刘安炼丹求仙，最终得道升天。传说，他炼丹剩下的药渣被鸡和狗吃了，也跟着一起升天了。这个故事后来演变成成语“鸡犬升天”，用来比喻一个人发达了，和他有关系的人都跟着沾光，也跟着发达起来。刘安，本名刘长，是汉高祖刘邦的孙子，被封为淮南王，统治着淮南地区。他是一位博学的王子，对道教和炼丹术非常感兴趣，希望通过炼丹来获得长生不老。他广纳贤士，在广陵建立了著名的“淮南书院”，聚集了众多学者，共同研究各种学问。传说，他曾经在八公山修炼，最终得道升天。虽然这段历史有争议，但“鸡犬升天”的故事却流传至今，成为一个家喻户晓的成语。
During the Han Dynasty, the Prince of Huainan, Liu An, practiced alchemy to seek immortality, and eventually succeeded in ascending to heaven. Legend has it that the remaining residue of his alchemy was eaten by chickens and dogs, and they also ascended to heaven together. This story later evolved into the idiom "鸡犬升天" (Jī quǎn shēng tiān), used to describe when one person becomes successful, those related to him also benefit and become successful.
