During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the famous scholar Yin Hao was demoted to Xin'an County and lived in seclusion. Every day, he wrote down the four characters "咄咄怪事" (duō duō guài shì), expressing his disappointment and dissatisfaction with the court's politics. These four characters were both a true reflection of his heart and the origin of the idiom used to describe strange events.
