Origin Story

In an ancient village, there lived an old man named Old Li. Old Li was an experienced farmer, who could always predict the weather and always grow a bountiful harvest. One day, a young scholar came to the village, the scholar was curious about Old Li's ability to predict the weather, so he asked Old Li for advice. Old Li smiled and said, "There's nothing difficult about it, as long as you observe the celestial phenomena carefully, you can predict the weather." The scholar was half-believing and half-doubting, and he followed Old Li to learn. After a few days, Old Li told the scholar that it would rain the next day. The scholar looked up at the sky, the sky was cloudless, and the sun was shining brightly, it didn't look like it was going to rain at all. The scholar was very puzzled, and asked Old Li, "Old sir, are you sure? The weather is so good now, how could it possibly rain?" Old Li still smiled confidently and said, "I believe my judgment, it will rain tomorrow." The scholar still didn't believe it, and he said angrily, "If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I will no longer believe your ability to predict the weather." The next day, it really rained cats and dogs. The scholar was stunned, Old Li's ability to predict the weather was truly amazing. He immediately apologized to Old Li and asked him for more knowledge. Old Li patiently taught the scholar, and the scholar studied hard. Later, the scholar also became a weather forecasting expert, he helped the village avoid many natural disasters, and also made the village more prosperous. However, many people don't know that the reason why Old Li could predict the weather was because he observed many details around him, such as ants moving and spiders spinning webs. These seemingly insignificant phenomena, however, contain many natural laws. Old Li was able to predict the weather only through years of observation and summary of these laws. This story tells us that many seemingly inexplicable things actually have their underlying reasons and laws. As long as we observe carefully and think carefully, we can discover the mysteries.
