Origin Story
During the Tang Dynasty, there was a wealthy merchant in Chang'an City whose house was filled with treasures. Silk, jewels, antiques and calligraphy - everything was available. Even some rare treasures from the imperial palace were in his collection. One day, a foreign envoy visited him, who was overwhelmed by the sight of treasures: “It’s all there, more magnificent than the imperial palace!”, he marveled. The merchant just smiled modestly.
