Origin Story

Although there was no harvest that year, Lao Zhang experienced the warmth of humanity and the government's care, which strengthened his belief in continuing to farm. The next spring, Lao Zhang sowed seeds early again, his face beaming with hope.

Usage

多用于形容因灾害等原因造成农作物绝收的情况，也泛指没有任何收获或结果。

duō yòng yú xíng róng yīn zāi hài děng yuán yīn zào chéng nóng zuò wù jué shōu de qíng kuàng, yě fàn zhǐ méi yǒu rènhé shōu huò huò jié guǒ.

Mostly used to describe the situation where crops completely fail due to natural disasters and other causes, and also generally refers to any situation with no harvest or result.
