一面之词 yī miàn zhī cí one-sided story

指争执的双方中一方所说的话。通常指不全面、不客观，甚至带有偏见的说法。

Origin Story

从前，在一个村庄里，住着两个农民。他们为了争夺一块土地，闹得不可开交。一个农民跑到县官那里告状，说：“那块土地是我的，我有很多证据证明！”县官听了他的一面之词，就判决这块土地归他所有。另一个农民不服气，也到县官那里上访。他气愤地说：“这块土地明明是我的，你凭什么把土地判给他？你一定要听我一面之词吗？”县官说：“我怎么会只听你一面之词？我已经调查清楚了，这块土地的确是你的。”于是，县官重新审理了案件，最终将这块土地判给了那个被冤枉的农民。

cóng qián, zài yī ge cūn zhuāng lǐ, zhù zhe liǎng ge nóng mín. tā men wèi le zhēng duó yī kuài tǔ dì, nào de bù kě kāi jiāo. yī ge nóng mín pǎo dào xiàn guān nà lǐ gào zhuàng, shuō: “nà kuài tǔ dì shì wǒ de, wǒ yǒu hěn duō zhèng jù zhèng míng!” xiàn guān tīng le tā de yī miàn zhī cí, jiù pàn jué zhè kuài tǔ dì guī tā suǒ yǒu. lìng yī ge nóng mín bù fú qì, yě dào xiàn guān nà lǐ shàng fǎng. tā qì fèn de shuō: “zhè kuài tǔ dì míng míng shì wǒ de, nǐ píng shén me bǎ tǔ dì pàn gěi tā? nǐ yī dìng yào tīng wǒ yī miàn zhī cí ma?” xiàn guān shuō: “wǒ zěn me huì zhǐ tīng nǐ yī miàn zhī cí? wǒ yǐ jīng diào chá qīng chǔ le, zhè kuài tǔ dì què shì nǐ de.” yú shì, xiàn guān chóng xīn shěn lǐ le àn jiàn, zuì zhōng jiāng zhè kuài tǔ dì pàn gěi le nà ge bèi yuān wàng de nóng mín.

Once upon a time, in a village, there lived two farmers. They quarreled over a piece of land and couldn't agree. One of the farmers went to the county magistrate and accused the other: "The land belongs to me, I have a lot of evidence!" The county magistrate only heard one side of the story and ruled that the land belonged to him. The other farmer was not satisfied and also appealed to the county magistrate. He said angrily: "This land clearly belongs to me, why do you give it to him? Are you only going to listen to one side of the story?" The county magistrate said: "Of course I'm not just listening to one side of the story! I have thoroughly investigated the matter and found that the land does indeed belong to you." Then the county magistrate retried the case and finally ruled that the land belonged to the farmer who had been wrongly accused.

Usage

用于提醒人们在处理问题时，要全面了解情况，不要只听信一面之词。

yòng yú tí xǐng rén men zài chǔ lǐ wèn tí de shí hòu, yào quán miàn liǎo jiě qíng kuàng, bù yào zhǐ tīng xìn yī miàn zhī cí.

Used to remind people to fully understand the situation when dealing with issues, and not to just listen to one side of the story.
