Origin Story
Legend has it that a long time ago, there was a monk named Yuanze. He and his friend Li Yuan traveled to the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. When they arrived at a beautiful place, Yuanze saw a pregnant woman drawing water by the river, and he said to Li Yuan, "I will be born into this pregnant woman's home in three days. We agreed to meet at the Tianzhu Temple in Hangzhou on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival in twelve years.". Twelve years later, Li Yuan came to the Tianzhu Temple in Hangzhou as promised, and sure enough, he saw a twelve-year-old shepherd boy singing in the temple. The lyrics were: "Old soul on the stone of three lives, don't talk about admiring the moon and the wind, it's embarrassing that my lover came to visit from afar, this body is different, but the essence remains the same.". Li Yuan immediately understood that this shepherd boy was the monk Yuanze from the past, and they embraced and cried, marveling at the wonders of life.
