Legend has it that in the distant East, there is a mysterious mountain peak called Kunlun Mountain. Kunlun Mountain rises high into the clouds, the mountains are shrouded in mist, full of fantasy colors. It is said that on the top of the mountain lives a goddess named Xi Wangmu, who possesses endless magic pills and elixirs that can cure all diseases and prolong life. Many people dream of climbing Kunlun Mountain, finding Xi Wangmu, and obtaining the magic pills and elixirs she bestows. There was a scholar named Zhang San who, as a child, had heard the legend of Kunlun Mountain and was determined to find Xi Wangmu and obtain her magic pills and elixirs. He bid farewell to his family and embarked on the long journey to Kunlun Mountain. Along the way, he crossed mountains and valleys, endured many dangers, until he finally arrived at the foot of Kunlun Mountain. The path up Kunlun Mountain was unusually rugged, and Zhang San had a hard time climbing halfway up the mountain. There, he saw an ancient stone tablet inscribed with several large characters: “Those who seek the elixir of immortality must first endure countless trials.” Zhang San was immediately full of fighting spirit, he decided to overcome all difficulties, find Xi Wangmu, and obtain her magic pills and elixirs. He continued climbing upwards, walking for a long time, until he finally reached the summit. On the summit stood a golden palace, the palace of Xi Wangmu. Zhang San was overjoyed, he rushed eagerly into the palace, only to find that the palace was empty. He searched everywhere, finally discovering an old, simple desk in the corner, with an ancient book on it. Zhang San opened the book, and it read: “Life on Earth is no different from eating, drinking, having fun and enjoying oneself, why cling to immortality. If you truly want to find endless happiness, you should cherish the present and enjoy life.” After reading this, Zhang San suddenly understood, that true happiness does not lie in pursuing the elusive, but in cherishing everything in front of you. He put down the book, descended the mountain and returned to his hometown, where he lived a simple and happy life from then on.
