In the Tang Dynasty, there was a poet named Li Bai who lived in Chang'an city. He created many popular poems. One day, an official visited Li Bai and wanted to ask him some questions about poetry creation. The official asked Li Bai a question: 'Mr. Li Bai, do you have some fixed patterns or methods when you create poems?' Li Bai smiled and said, 'I have never had any fixed patterns when I create poems. Everything is well-founded. Inspiration comes from life, from my observation and thinking about nature and life.' The official asked again: 'Then how do you ensure the authenticity and artistry of your poems?' Li Bai replied: 'My poems, whether in the choice of subject matter or the use of language, are all well-founded. The scenes I describe are all what I have seen and experienced myself; the emotions I express are also my sincere feelings.' The official was deeply inspired after hearing this, and repeatedly praised Li Bai's well-founded creation method, which is admirable.
