我们家每年春节都要祭祖，这是我们家的传统。
wǒmen jiā měinián chūnjié dōu yào jì zǔ, zhè shì wǒmen jiā de chuántǒng.
In our family, we worship our ancestors every year during the Spring Festival. This is our family tradition.
小明
祭祖？那是什么？
jì zǔ? nà shì shénme?
Worship ancestors? What's that?
外婆
就是祭奠我们祖先，表达对他们的尊敬和怀念。我们会在祖先的牌位前上香，摆放供品，然后烧纸钱。
jiùshì jìdiàn wǒmen zǔxiān, biǎodá duì tāmen de zūnjìng hé huáiniàn. wǒmen huì zài zǔxiān de páiwèi qián shàng xiāng, bǎi fàng gōngpǐn, ránhòu shāo zhǐqián.
It's to pay respect and remember our ancestors. We offer incense and food offerings in front of their memorial tablets and burn paper money.
小明
听起来很隆重啊！供品都有些什么？
tīng qǐlái hěn lóngzhòng a! gōngpǐn dōu yǒuxiē shénme?
It sounds very grand! What kind of offerings are there?
外婆
一般会有水果、点心、酒之类的。
yībān huì yǒu shuǐguǒ, diǎnxīn, jiǔ zhīlèi de.
Usually there are fruits, snacks, and wine.
小明
那烧纸钱是什么意思呢？
nà shāo zhǐqián shì shénme yìsi ne?
So what does burning paper money mean?
外婆
这是为了让祖先在另一个世界也能过得好一些。
zhè shì wèile ràng zǔxiān zài lìng yīgè shìjiè yě néng guò de hǎo yīxiē.
It's to let the ancestors have a better life in the other world.
