After the emperor read the petition, he was furious and ordered a thorough investigation from top to bottom. Eventually, the corrupt officials were punished, and the people lived in peace and prosperity. Li Bai's actions were not only praised by the emperor, but more importantly, it was a great deed for the people. This story remains a legend to this day.
