话说唐朝时期，边关告急，敌军来犯。朝廷上下人心惶惶，都在讨论如何抵御外敌。这时，一位大臣站出来，侃侃而谈，他提出的策略是加强内部管理，修缮宫殿，美化环境。皇帝和其他的大臣都被他的雄辩所打动，并表示赞同。但是，一位年轻的将军却站出来反对，他说：“现在边关告急，外敌入侵，我们应该集中力量抵御外敌，加强边防，而不是把精力放在这些无关大局的事情上。修缮宫殿、美化环境这些事情虽然看起来很好，但是在国家危难之际，这些都是无关紧局的。我们应该把有限的资源和精力都放在抵抗外敌上，才能保住国家和百姓的安全。”他的话虽然直接，却也切中要害，最终皇帝采纳了这位年轻将军的建议，集中力量抵抗外敌，成功地保卫了国家。
