Origin Story
A fortune teller came to a small town. He had a goatee, wore old robes, and carried a bulging cloth bag. Wherever he went, crowds gathered around him. People asked him all sorts of questions, some about love, some about money, and some about careers. The fortune teller always answered slowly and deliberately, occasionally adding a bit of mystery to confuse people. Old Zhang was a shrewd businessman who never believed in such superstitions. But when he saw how popular the fortune teller was, he became curious. He decided to try it out and see if this fortune teller had any real skills. He went to the fortune teller, threw down a silver coin, and said, "Tell my fortune." The fortune teller looked at Old Zhang, stroked his beard, and said, "Your finances have been good recently, but beware of villains." Old Zhang was a little unhappy. He thought that the fortune teller's words were too general and didn't get to the point. He was about to refute, when the fortune teller said, "I see you're about to meet a friend. This friend will be important to you, but be cautious." Old Zhang became even more impatient. He thought the fortune teller was talking nonsense and had no real skills. Just as he was about to leave, the fortune teller said, "Your health hasn't been great recently. Pay attention to your well-being." Old Zhang was completely disappointed. He thought that the fortune teller was using ambiguous words to fool people. He picked up his coin and left without looking back. Back home, Old Zhang became increasingly angry. He thought the fortune teller was a fraud! He decided to expose the fortune teller's true nature. The next day, Old Zhang returned to the fortune teller's stand. He was determined to give the fortune teller a good scolding. He pointed his finger at the fortune teller's nose and said, "Your fortune telling is inaccurate! You're a fraud!" The fortune teller smiled and said, "Sir, you're looking at me with colored glasses. My words, while seemingly general, are actually based on facts. Your finances have indeed been good recently, but you need to guard against villains; you will indeed meet a new friend, who will be important to you, but caution is advised; your health has indeed not been the best, so pay attention to your well-being. These are all facts, but you simply haven't realized them yet." Old Zhang finally understood. He had been looking at things with colored glasses, which made him think the fortune teller's words were inaccurate. He apologized to the fortune teller and left quietly.
