Origin Story
During the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, there was a small country called "Wei." The ruler was incompetent and corrupt, the officials were greedy and corrupt, and the people lived in poverty. The officials of Wei fought among themselves for power and influence, resulting in political chaos. At this time, a man named Zi Lu came to Wei and saw the state of the country. He was indignant and decided to help Wei change its situation. Zi Lu first found the ruler of Wei to explain to him the current crisis in the country and proposed many reform suggestions. But the ruler of Wei was incompetent and did not listen to Zi Lu. When Zi Lu saw that the ruler was unpersuaded, he decided to take action. He joined forces with a group of wise men and challenged the greedy and corrupt officials. These officials were usually arrogant and overbearing, and no one dared to resist them. Zi Lu and his companions did not fear sacrifice, denounced the crimes of these officials, and aroused strong dissatisfaction among the people. Finally, these greedy and corrupt officials were attacked by everyone and were expelled from the court. The state of Wei then experienced a short period of prosperity.
