Origin Story

During the Warring States Period, there was a farmer whose sheep pen had a big hole in it. His sheep often ran out, which caused him a lot of trouble. One day, the farmer's sheep ran out of the pen again. He thought to himself: It's useless to chase the sheep and repair the pen if it's gone. Anyway, I can't find it. But he still couldn't rest easy, so he went to the sheep pen and stared at the hole. At this time, his neighbor's wife saw him and said with a smile: 'Your sheep has run away, why don't you chase it quickly?' The farmer said: 'What's the use of chasing the sheep? It's gone anyway, I'd rather stay here and see where it ran out and repair the pen so it won't run out again in the future.' The neighbor's wife said: 'It's not too late to repair the pen now, but if all the sheep run away, then it's too late!'
