Long ago, in a beautiful place with clear water and lush mountains, lived a hardworking fisherman named Lao Zhang. His house was nestled against a mountain and beside a river. Every morning, he would see the sunrise over the mountain peaks, reflected in the crystal-clear river—a truly stunning sight. Lao Zhang made his living fishing; he was skilled and knowledgeable, always catching more fish than others. His wife was also very capable, weaving and spinning at home, and they lived comfortably. The couple loved each other deeply and lived happily. One day, a merchant from another region came to the village and, seeing Lao Zhang’s idyllic home nestled between the mountain and the river, wanted to build a shop there. Lao Zhang and his wife, seeing the merchant’s sincerity, agreed. The merchant’s shop thrived, and Lao Zhang and his wife also benefited greatly. They became good friends, and their story is still told today, a local legend.
